What is Xenia?

Greek in origin, the concept of Xenia spread throughout the ancient world as a standard for human interaction. Xenia was a code of mutuality and hospitality between travelers and residents; reciprocal friendship and respect lie at its heart.

At the institute, we seek mutual respect in our every exchange. We work to recognize others as honored counterparts and to understand the ideas of others as valuable and grounded in truth. Through dialogue, we transform the landscape of human interaction, extending the concept of Xenia between the powerful and the powerless, the fearful and the feared, the rooted and the wanderer.
